Behavior Specialists provides ABA therapy for children, teens and young adults across Miami-Dade County. Our office is in Dania Beach, and our team brings services to the places where your child lives and learns.

Who it’s for

Families come to us for support with communication, social and play skills, daily living skills, emotional regulation, transitions and challenging behaviors, usually after a diagnosis such as autism.

Where services take place in Miami-Dade County

• In your home. A Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) works one-on-one with your child at home, supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
• At school or day care. Services can be delivered where your child learns, with the school’s or day care’s involvement.
• In the community. Sessions can take place in community settings, since the goal is to build skills where they are used.
• At our center. Families can choose center-based sessions at our Dania Beach treatment center.

How to start

1. Call or register. Call the office or fill out the registration form. Tell us who the therapy is for and what you are hoping for.
2. Intake paperwork. Our intake coordinator tells you which documents are needed, such as the order for ABA services and prior records. See the insurance and intake guide.
3. Coverage and authorization. We check your coverage and request the authorizations needed to begin.
4. Assessment by a BCBA. A Board Certified Behavior Analyst assesses your child and recommends the hours per week.
5. Schedule and start. We set the location and schedule with you and match you with your team.

Insurance

We work with Medicaid, Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Evernorth – Cigna, Sunshine and Health Network One, and we offer self pay with a sliding scale fee. Details are on the insurance and intake page.
